Gift of Life to Move HQ to New Boca Penthouse

The Gift of Life Marrow Registry, the international bone marrow registry that helps patients suffering from blood cancer, is relocating its headquarters within Boca Raton.

The move in early 2019 will create about 20 new jobs, according to a company spokeswoman.

Gift of Life has leased the 17,465 square-foot penthouse Sabre Centre I, at 5901 Broken Sound Parkway, which is within The Park at Broken Sound. Its headquarters is currently located at 800 Yamato Road.

The 102,351-square-foot, six-story Sabre Centre I office building is a Grover Corlew property on six acres with scenic views of Broken Sound Golf Course.

The 700-acre Arvida Park of Commerce was renamed the Park at Broken Sound and both residential units and retail space has been developed.

“This has sparked a great deal of office activity within the park creating a revitalized work environment for companies and their employees,” said Joseph J. Freitas, a director at Cushman & Wakefield, which represented the landlord in the transaction.

Founded in 1991, Gift of Life Marrow Registry is an international non-profit that works to cure blood cancer through marrow and stem cell donation. It has more than 305,000 donors in its registry and has helped facilitate nearly 3,300 lifesaving transplants, according to its website.

Last month, Grover Corlew leased more than 20,000 square feet to Hair Club for Men, the hair replacement and restoration company. The business intends to relocate its headquarters from its current Federal Highway location to Palmetto Place at Boca Raton.
