Grover Corlew Donates Funding to Help Reinvigorate Pompano Beach Elementary School’s Art Program

Local real estate investment management group and community leaders celebrate a return of art to the classroom

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (March 27, 2018) – Pompano Beach-based real estate investment group Grover Corlew has donated $1,500 to assist Pompano Beach Elementary with its new art program, which was reintroduced during this school year.

To celebrate, arts students created a pictorial depiction of their vision of what Pompano Beach would look like in the future, which was unveiled during a dinner at the school. Principal Shezette Blue-Small kicked off the celebration by welcoming students and their families, thanking Grover Corlew and introducing new art teacher Linda Cristantello. Also in attendance where Pompano Beach Mayor Lamar Fisher, Broward County School Board Chair Nora Rupert, Pompano Chamber of Commerce President Ric Green, Pompano Beach Economic Development Manager Chris Clemens and community activist Roy Rogers.

“At Grover Corlew, we are passionate about education, art and the community so when we were presented with the opportunity to support Pompano Beach Elementary, we were thrilled to be able to help,” said Partner Anuj Grover. “In our business, we strive to create better and beautiful city environments from this type of grass-roots inspiration.”

The new art program offers students the chance to experience art enrichment as part of their regular curriculum as well as the opportunity to be part of an after-school art club where students are immersed in learning new art techniques and philosophies.

“When private corporations like Grover Corlew make contributions to our school we can provide more meaningful learning experiences to children who would otherwise not have these expansive opportunities,” said Principal Shezette Blue-Small. “We hope to see the new art program flourish and become an even more integral part of the school’s everyday curriculum.”

Grover Corlew has been intricately involved in and supports the city’s revitalization.

“Private investments are needed in many areas of our community to build on the momentum already underway through various city projects,” said Partner Mark Corlew. “This new program serves as a reminder that positive and life-enriching programs also are important components to the city’s overall revitalization efforts.”
